Gemma Sou
Vice Chancellor's Postdoctoral Fellow
Gemma is a Vice Chancellor's Postdoctoral Fellow in the Social and Global Studies Centre. She explores human-environment relations, with a particular interest in the everyday experiences of people affected by disasters and their representation in media. She has worked in Antigua and Barbuda, Bolivia, Brazil, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, U.K, and draws on development geography, social anthropology, postcolonial studies and media sociology in her work. She is also an editor of the Journal of Humanitarian Affairs
