Anne Kalies

Researcher in energy transition and climate law

Dr Anne Kallies is a researcher in the area of energy transition and climate law, which a special focus on renewable energy and electricity market regulation. Dr Kallies’ research experience includes expertise on energy market and network regulation and legal frameworks for infrastructure resilience and microgrids.

Her research draws on her study and professional experience in Australia and Germany. She holds a German law degree, a LLM and a PhD, both completed at Melbourne Law School.

In the past, Dr Kallies has worked for the German Federal Environmental Agency and as a researcher at the Centre for Resources, Energy and Environmental Law at Melbourne Law School. She has presented her work in industry and community forums, and published in academic journals. She is a regular commentator in The Conversation on energy transition law and policy.
